Welcome Address by the Director
Centre for Logistics and Transport Studies (CELTAS)

It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to the official website of the Centre for Logistics and Transport Studies.

The efficient movement of people, goods, and services drives today’s world. Logistics and transport play a critical role in national development and economic sustainability. The Centre for Logistics and Transport Studies, University of Port Harcourt, was established in response to the increasing demand for highly skilled professionals in the transport and logistics supply chain management.

Our mission is to serve as a centre of excellence for academic training, research, and professional development in this vital field. At CELTRAS, we are committed to producing qualified, competent, and ethically grounded professionals equipped with the knowledge and skills to meet the dynamic challenges of today’s technology-driven industry. Through a rich blend of theory and practical exposure, we aim to bridge the gap between academia and industry, while promoting innovation, sustainability, and best practices.

One of the unique strengths of the Centre is our hybrid mode of learning. Our classes are designed to combine both physical and virtual platforms, providing flexible and accessible education for diverse learners. This approach ensures that our programmes are inclusive, adaptable, and in tune with global trends in higher education.

Our partnerships with government institutions, private sector stakeholders, and international organisations further enrich the learning experience and ensure our graduates are workplace-ready.

This website is a window into our activities, programmes, research outputs, partnerships, and events. I encourage you to explore its contents, engage with our resources, and become part of a vibrant community shaping the future of transport and logistics in Nigeria and beyond.

Thank you for visiting, and welcome to the Centre for Logistics and Transport Studies, where innovation meets mobility.

Warm regards,
Professor Collins H. Wizor
